This book introduces the important and latest research achievements of oil and gas exploration in China, including four chapters: (1) progress in oil and gas exploration and development in China, (2) geophysical exploration of oil and gas, (3) reservoir analysis and reservoir formation research, and (4) oil and gas drilling technology. Relevant studies are supported by National Science and Technology Major Project of China, National Key Basic Research Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China and research projects of China National Petroleum Corporation and China Petrochemical Corporation. The authors are affiliated with major petroleum enterprises such as CNPC and Sinopec Group, as well as key petroleum universities such as China University of Petroleum, China University of Geosciences, Southwest Petroleum University and Yangtze University. These articles represent the current research on the exploration and development of oil and gas in China. The publication of this book will promote the development and international academic exchange of theories and technologies in petroleum geophysical prospecting, oil-gas field development and petroleum engineering. This book can be used as a reference for teachers and students majoring in geophysics, petroleum engineering and petroleum geology in universities and institutes.
This book includes two chapters. Chapter 1 provides systematic analysis of the migration patterns, residue characteristics, sources, and health/ecological risks of soil pollutants such as heavy metals, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, organochlorine pesticides, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, and fluorides in key regions of China like Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta. Chapter 2 highlights the measures used to effectively address soil contamination in China. This book demonstrates a full spectrum of outcomes in the prevention and control of soil contamination in China, and provides a scientific basis and theoretical guidance for soil remediation worldwide.

This book includes two chapters. Chapter 1 includes the articles focusing on the distribution characteristics, sources and ecological risks of heavy metals, organochlorines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, antibiotics and nutrients in key basins such as the Yangtze River Basin, the Yellow River Basin, and the Taihu Lake Basin in China. Chapter 2 mainly involves the techniques and measures used to control water pollution in China. The book fully demonstrates the achievements of water pollution prevention and control in China and offers a reference for water pollution management all over the world, which has important academic value and practical significance.
This book contains three sections and provides a detailed introduction of the latest research and development achievements in the basic properties, preparation processes, and applications of polymer matrix composites, metal matrix composites, and inorganic non-metal matrix composites in China, which represent the advanced level of science and technology in China.
This book is a compilation of the English version of the selected Chinese articles and includes six chapters, with detailed introduction of the formation mechanisms, risk assessment, monitoring and warning, and disaster mitigation measures of six types of natural disasters: earthquake, drought, flood, typhoon, landslide and debris flow. It provides scientific and technical support for understanding the patterns of disaster occurrence, predicting the future disasters, and mitigating the harm caused by natural disasters, which has practical significance for disaster prevention and mitigation worldwide. Therefore, this book can be used as a reference for researchers, technicians, teachers and students focusing on prevention and mitigation of natural disasters.
This book includes two chapters. Chapter 1 systematically analyzes the spatio-temporal changes, pollution characteristics, and sources of air pollutants including PM2.5, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ozone, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxide in the key areas of China like the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the surrounding areas, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta, and summarizes the general evolution and scientific law of air pollution in various cities of China. Chapter 2 highlights the effective measures adopted to deal with air pollution in China. These articles fully demonstrate China’s achievements in air pollution prevention and control, which will provide a reference for air pollution control in other countries and regions.
